The Ego, the Mind, and the Self

As a beginning meditator, one of the many questions I have asked of God – and the same question asked by many others is: “How will I know I am already listening to the voice of God and not just myself?”
Compounded with many other jargons and word inventions such as the word “ego”, we then ask of God, “How will I know it is already your voice and not myself?”
So, you now have, the ego, the mind and the self, and the confusion seem to be never-ending. Here you are dealing with the abstract, the material and the yet-to-be-made manifest which is the Self.
